At Freedom Family Chiropractic our examination procedures are geared toward detection and correction of the “Vertebral Subluxation“. The procedures we use are therefore specifically selected for your spine and nervous system health.
The first visit will consist of a thorough health history discussed with one of the doctors followed by an examination of the spine and musculoskeletal system. A variety of orthopedic exams may be utilized as they are an essential part of the diagnosis process of conditions affecting the muscles, bones, and joints. Palpation of the spine is an important component of the exam as it allows the doctor to feel areas of your spine that may have subluxation issues. Spinal position, curvatures and muscle tone can also be examined as it relates to possible spinal subluxations.
Spinal X-rays may be taken depending on your age, and situation. There are many reasons why we would not take x-rays on a patient including pregnancy, most young children, recent usable spinal x-rays and other various situations. Aside from these, x-rays are a common part of the examination process when looking for vertebral subluxations. X-rays give us important information including the position of the spinal bones, and the quality of the spine and safety of adjusting it. X-rays also tell us the relative length of time subluxations may have been present in your spine.
After completion of the initial visit, you will be scheduled for a time to go over your x-rays in detail with one of the doctors. This is a great opportunity to bring a spouse, parent, or someone who helps you make health decisions. The doctors will fully explain how the subluxations in your spine could be hindering you from being 100% healthy. At this appointment the doctors will go over a care plan designed specifically for you, answering all your questions about chiropractic and health.
